The Field Captain’s Bullet Pen is a handcrafted deer antler pen with a fully functioning bolt-action click mechanism, rifle-style clip, and .30-06 caliber bullet tip. It is rugged, substantial, and unmistakably made for the sort of desk where field notes, supply lists, orders, maps, and hard-earned letters all have equal claim.

Each pen is hand-turned from deer antler and finished with a high-gloss surface. Because antler is a natural material, every pen carries its own color, pattern, and character. No two will be exactly alike.

The pen opens so the inkwell can be replaced and comes with a standard black ink insert. It may also be paired with an optional gun-case-style pen box if available.

These pens are made by Ortmann Woodcraft, a family-owned woodworking business based in Patton, Missouri. Jon and Debbie Ortmann began the business in 2013 after years of woodworking practice, craft shows, juried markets, and hands-on production. Their work gained national attention when they were asked to provide handmade pens and letter openers for the 2017 inauguration. Today, Ortmann Woodcraft continues to produce handmade wood and specialty pens with the same attention to detail whether the order is for one pen or a thousand.
