A quick note from the kitchen: these are not cat-shaped cutters. “Kittenhead” and “Fat Cat” refer to biscuit size. Cathead biscuits are a Southern tradition known for being big, hand-formed biscuits; the Kittenhead is the smaller, bite-size cousin, and the Fat Cat is the oversized version for bakers who believe a proper biscuit should make itself known.

These cutters come from The Riley/Land Collection, a Nashville-based home goods brand founded by Joseph Riley Land in 2013. The brand grew from gourmet pantry roots into heirloom-minded wooden kitchen wares, with pieces handmade in Tennessee from trees connected to Joseph’s family farm. The result is the kind of kitchen tool that feels practical on baking day and handsome enough to leave on the counter.
